AI Empowered SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

The AI-Empowered SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) is a two-day course that equips you with the tools to manage backlogs, lead teams, and plan programs effectively, enhanced by modern AI applications that support smarter product decisions and stronger customer alignment.

Modern Product Owners and Product Managers increasingly work in AI-driven environments. This training therefore includes practical guidance on how AI can responsibly support backlog refinement, feature discovery, prioritization, and customer insight. The SAFe POPM course will teach you how to adopt a customer-centric approach to building products, using the Scaled Agile Framework to deliver more value, faster.

Participants will receive an overview of the Scaled Agile Framework and the Lean-Agile mindset, as well as a deep understanding of the specific activities, tools, and mechanics involved in delivering value to the enterprise.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be well-equipped to pass the SAFe PO/PM certification exam.

Additionally, participants will use AI for smarter backlog refinement and customer-centric product decisions in a Lean-Agile enterprise.

Module 1: Exploring Product Roles and Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibilities of a SAFe Product Owner or Product Manager
• Backlog ownership, forecasting, and management of risks and dependencies

Module 2: Preparing & Leading PI planning

• Prepare for and facilitate PI Planning
• Ensure alignment between vision, roadmaps, and business goals
• Partner with teams to establish well-defined PI objectives

Module 3: Executing Iterations

• Core Agile practices such as creating stories and story maps, iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration reviews, and retrospectives
• Introduction to the Continuous Delivery Pipeline to support frequent and reliable value delivery

Module 4: Executing the PI

• Lean Agile thinking and a customer centric approach to define, prioritize, and deliver features and stories that can be rapidly built, tested, and released

Module 5: AI for Product Roles

• Hands-on skills to leverage AI for backlog refinement, prioritization, feature discovery, and stronger customer connection, guided by responsible AI principles.

There are no requirements to participate in this course. However, if you want to take the exam, we recommend that you have:

• Participated in a Leading SAFe training course
• Experience working in a SAFe environment
• Experience with Lean, Agile or other relevant certifications
