Locating Element K Class Data Files
1. On your desktop double-click on the Internet Explorer icon -
2. When Internet Explorer opens, type www.elementkcourseware.com
into the address bar at the top of your screen and press the enter
key.
3. When the Element K web page opens, click on the orange tab at
the top of the screen that is labeled "Outlines" 
4. In the middle of the page, you will see a box that lists many
software packages - the very first choice is "*Individual Courseware
Outline Search" - click once on that line of text. A new page
will open and you will see a "Search Criteria" option
on the left side of the page.
5. Next to the "Search" box, you will see "Part
Number" has already been filled in - click on the drop-down
arrow next to the box and choose "Titles" to search by
the title of the class since you don't know the part number.
6. In the box below, type in the name of the course for which you
need data files - (Example: If you need Excel 97 Level 1 data files,
just type the word "Excel 97" in the box so that you will
get a list of all of the courses EK offers in the area of Excel).
7. Click once on the orange "Search" button below the
box.
8. You will see a list of all of the offerings EK has in that area.
Choose the Office 97 equivalent of the Office 2000 course you took
(Example - if you took Excel 2000 Worksheets look for the Excel
97 Worksheets link).
9. Once you have clicked on the appropriate class, you will see
an area on the left side of the screen (at the top) that says "Student
Course Files". The file name is the part number (Example: 52-220.exe).
10. Click on the file name and (shown above) and a dialog box will
open - click on the "okay" button and choose the location
where you would like to save the files (most people put them in
there My Documents folder on their C: drive).
11. Go to the location you specified and you will see an icon
With the book number (Example - 52-220). This is an executable file
that will use WinZip to open. 
12. Double-click on the icon and you will see a dialog box appear.
Where is says "unzip to folder", you will need to tell
the file where you would like for it to be unzipped. If you are
not sure - type "C:\my documents" (without the quotation
marks) to be safe.
13. Click on the "Unzip" button on the right side of the
box. A dialog box will appear letting you know the files have unzipped
successfully.
14. Navigate yourself to the location you identified in the "unzip
to folder" section of the WinZip dialog box and you should
see all the datafiles you need!
