System Source SPAM Filter Service
Screen out junk email to increase your productivity and decrease the traffic on
your network - especially important for those on low bandwidth connections, remote
and mobile users.
Intelligent, heuristic rules evaluate each message's characteristics to determine
the likelihood of an email being considered spam. And because one person's trash
is another person's treasure, there are easy to use settings to let users personally
configure the filter
categories and aggressiveness to meet their unique needs. Any email matching the
spam settings is quarantined on an external server with a web-based user interface
before it ever reaches the inbox. After users adjust their personal filters, your
spam problems almost disappear.
- Quarantine sexually explicit, get rich quick, special offers and racially insensitive
junk email.
- Adjust filter settings any time.
- Quarantined mail can be viewed any time on a special website.

2. How does it work?
Unlike other solutions that filter email at the desktop, server or gateway,
Email Filtering is positioned between the Internet and your corporate network, creating
a secure wall around your email system that extends to the email entry point - the
Internet. All incoming email is routed through Email Filtering's secure data centers
and scanned by their sophisticated heuristic-rules engine, which analyzes every
part of an email message - from the IP address of the sender to the message content.
This process is executed in a highly secure, automated environment that prevents
anyone from viewing legitimate email. And good email is not stored to disk. Perimeter
Manager provides tools that make it easy for administrators or end-users to review
quarantined email, accept messages they would like to receive and create their own
white lists and black lists.
3. Will it delay my e-mail?
You should not notice a delay in message delivery.
4. Is it difficult to set up?
No, If your domain is not hosted by System Source, a few simple changes
to you mail exchange (MX) records are required.
If your domain is hosted by System Source, we take care of setting your organization
up.
You then just add the users in your organization, set your organizational defaults,
and you are ready to go!
Allow 5 business days for us to contact you and set up your account.
5. How do I use it?
Once an individual user is set up, they can manage their own Email Filtering account
through a convenient web-based console. Users have the flexibility to review quarantined
emails and customize filter settings as permitted by the organizations administrator.
Simply set your account as a favorite in your web browser, and your Email Filtering
account is just a click away!
6. Can you block certain addresses or domains so they never get through?
Absolutely! Email Filtering offers a “blacklist” feature that each user can set
up from their web-based console. Simply add the domain or address you do not want
to receive mail from and that sender or domain will be blocked from your account.
Email Filtering also offers a “white list” feature that users can set up so that
any e-mail from a domain or address will automatically be delivered to your inbox.
7. How long are messages in my Email Filtering mail box saved?
Messages are saved for your review for fourteen (14) days. After that, Email Filtering
will delete them from your account.
8. Why do we offer Symantec Anti Virus Gateway services when Email Filtering
has an anti virus component?
While Email Filtering has a very aggressive anti-virus component, its filtering
and anti virus protection is user based. That is to say that if a mailbox on your
system is not set up as a Email Filtering user, Email Filtering does not filter
traffic to it. Organizations where there is high turnover or frequent user additions
could be vulnerable if a new user or account was not set up. The Symantec Gateway
service is not user specific and as such monitors ALL traffic from the Internet
adding an additional layer of protection to your organization.
9. What if I have multiple e-mail domains? ie. name@company.com and name@company.net
Generally no additional costs are associated with multiple email domains.
However, contact internet-sales@syssrc.com to be sure.
